We made it! We are officially in Arizona and so far so good! We headed out of AF at 2pm and with only a couple stops made it to Gilbert safe and sound.
We were hoping to leave sooner than 2pm but mom and Chris decided it probably would be better to travel 600 miles with a spare tire (ours was "borrowed" by a neighbor a while back and never returned despite our reminding them multiple times). They found us a donut and gratefully we didn't need to use it in the way, but better safe than sorry!
We are staying with Aunt Chris and she has been so good to us. We have two of her three bedrooms and even though it's not our own space I'm just enjoying the fact that its MORE space! Mae has live crawling all over! Speaking of the little munchkin...she's getting a little more used to Aunt Chris and her dog Maisy. It was actually really cute. Maisy was so curious about Mae and finally ended up licking her little hand. Mae was very apprehensive at first. But it seemed like as soon as Maisy satisfied her curiosity Mae started going after her! I'm excited to see how this relationship pans out. (We've already caught Mae with a piece of dog food in her mouth unsure emoticon but besides that I think the dog experience will be good for her). There are also stairs here so maybe we'll get her to learn those too! (Hopefully only the climbing of stairs and not the falling).
Aunt Chris is nannying for Alissa and Steve this summer. That's why she's at this house in AZ. So some days she'll be over there and some days the girls will be over here. It'll be fun to get to know them better.
Which we actually went over to their new place in Mesa this evening! And their girls are so cute! They were a little shy with us at first. Kira warmed right up to Mae and the other girls warmed up to me after I asked them to show me how to make some of the elastic bracelets they were making smile emoticon
They had us and the Elders over for dinner and it was a blast! Alissa and Steve are so kind and welcoming. Steve actually reminded me a little of Keith with some of the jokes he made lol. I'm excited to be so close to them and hope we do more with them while we are here.
I also have been texting Missy and they invited us over for dinner this week too! It'll be fun to see them as well. All the family we've never really had a lot of time with smile emoticon what a great opportunity to strengthen those ties smile emoticon
We have one more week until Chris starts work so we are hoping to get a lot done this week in regards to house hunting and figuring out our storage/getting organized.
We feel very fortunate to be where we are and feel like we are starting a new life lol or a new adventure. We've got lots of goals and ideas and hope that we are able to make the most of the time we have.
